About Momos

Yam has been cooking Nepali, Western & International foods for over 20 years. Born and raised in Nepal, Yam believes in cooking, eating and serving fresh, home style food using natural, healthy & tasty ingredients. He literally and figurativelycaters to the tastes of his customers.

Inspired by the coloured flags of Nepal.

In Nepal colourful Buddhist prayer flags are seen throughout the entire country. These flags are symbolic of fire, earth, sun & water. It is said that as the wind blows through the flags blessings will be sent across the land. Like the flags of Nepal, we at Momos hope to spread the same type of blessings through our incredible tasting and healthy foods. Enjoy and Namaste!

Why we chose that name for our restaurant

Momos (pronounced mo-mos) are meat or vegetable filled dumplings originally from Nepal and Tibet. Ours are completely hand made starting with local flour based casings and are filled with chicken, pork or veggie mix. We serve them with Yam’s tomato, coriander and garlic sauce.

Momos are typically steamed but they can be pan fried as well. After trying just one of our renowned Momos, you will understand why they are so popular and why we decided that our restaurant should carry the same name. We have been serving them to delighted customers for over 20 years. We know you will love them as much as we enjoy preparing them for you, our valued patrons!

Western Fair District

We are located in The Market at The Western Fair District. The market is an incredible and eclectic group of people, products and services.

The Western Fair’s Confederation Building was built in 1927 and the current Farmers’ and Artisans‘ Market has been situated within the building since December 2006. It has grown in the number of vendors and customers every year since then. It is continually being rejuvenated with the introduction of new vendors & products. The renewal of the market seems to mirror the renewal of London’s Old East Village neighbourhood itself. Vendors, visitors and customers have come together to create a special kind of family within the community and we invite you to experience it.

Old East Village

Located in the Old East Village, The London Food Incubator is a newly renovated space that is home to Momos at the Market, Fire Roasted Coffee Company, The Old East Village Grocer, Meals on Wheels east end distribution depot, and roughly half a dozen other businesses. It’s incredibly unique. Not only in the variety of businesses that are in this setting but the degree of collaboration.

The Old East Village is an incredibly diverse neighbourhood. Having a space like this in the heart of it capitalizes on the energy and the synergy from all those that live, shop, build and grow within it. We love being here and you will too
